Teacher Grants for Teacher Learning
The Elkin Educational Foundation introduced a new Teacher Grant program in the Fall of 2024, which would fund personal development opportunities for ECS teachers. The $20,000 Teacher Grant award was allocated to the ECS principals based on the number of teachers at each school.
The distribution of funds to schools is as follows:
| Elkin Elementary | $9,500 |
| Elkin Middle | $3,000 |
| Elkin High | $7,500 |
The ECS principals will utilize the grant funds for ongoing education seminars, travel expenses, substitute teachers, and other costs related to enhancing teachers’ professional development.
Elkin Elementary School Principal Dr. Emily Rycroft accepts the Teacher Grant for Teacher Learning from EEF Board Members Amanda Burton and Doug Reinhardt.
The Teacher Grants for Teacher Learning were accepted by EHS Principal Amanda Burton and EMS Principal Dr. Jennifer Hall. The grants were presented by EEF President Dr. Jim Harrell and EEF Executive Director Doug Reinhardt.
