The Elkin Educational Foundation Gala was held on Saturday, February 24, at Coley Hall at The Liberty. It was the celebration of the union of two leading local educational foundations – Elkin Academic Enrichment Foundation and Blue and Gold Alumni Scholarship – who have merged to form one powerhouse foundation to support Elkin City Schools and its mission. This new organization is the Elkin Educational Foundation (EEF), and the mission is “to provide financial support and resources to Elkin City Schools in pursuit of excellence in teaching, innovation in the classroom, and superior learning and scholarship opportunities for all students”. As the EEF board members continue our focus and dedication to establish a new vibrant foundation and pursue our mission, we wanted to pause and hold a celebration to recognize, thank, and honor our donors, community advocates, and teachers and administrators for your perpetual devotion and support to promote education in our community.
